Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge #712

Thought I'd give a sketch challenge a whirl so headed over to Just Add Ink to see what their latest challenge was.  Here is my entry.  I've used the bright and colourful Flowering Zinnias DSP for a pair of cheerful thanks cards.

Here is the sketch - my card maths was a bit wonky so I ended up adding a few more strips instead of the 4 in the sketch.

#712 Just Add Ink Sketch

Here is a closer look at each card.  My white cardstock panel is 3 1/2" x 5".  The background paper is card front size (10.5cm x 14.8cm.)  My DSP strips are 8.5cm wide and varying heights so they fit evenly.  I'd planned 4 evenly sized strips but my maths was wonky so I ended up making them varying sizes.  (And I'm a maths teacher - oopsie!!)

And since I had some strips left over I made a second one.  The Flowering Zinnias DSP is from our Online Exclusives collection.  The circle die with the stitched edge is from Changing Leaves Dies and the thanks greeting is from Simply Said stamp set - also from our Online Exclusives.

It was fun to take part in a challenge.  Pop on over to Just Add Ink if you'd like to take part or to browse all of the entries and the design team inspiration.

Happy creating,

Cheers, Sue

Just Because Card: Heartfelt Hexagons

Unbounded-beauty-heartfelt-hexagons-card-1

I'm away for a few days in Rye for a craft retreat with 4 friends.  Here's one of the cards I've made so far.  I'm enjoying using some of my packs of DSP.  This one features Unbounded Beauty DSP - love the pretty pinks and aquas.  The greeting is from Heartfelt Hexagon stamps and is just perfect for a 'Just Because' card.

The circle is cut with the Everyday Details dies.  This set has some circles and rectangles in a range of sizes plus some decorative edges - all with that circle dot border design.

Everyday-details-dies

Some measurements (I've used a mix of cms and inches.)  The 3 DSP panels are 1" x 4 3/4".  (A little tip - I stick the outer 2 ones on first then can adjust the gaps to make sure they're even - ish for the middle panel.) The white panel is 3 1/2" x 5".  I've used the largest circle from Everyday Details.  The DSP for the front of the card is 10.5cm x 14.8cm.

Wishing you a day filled with joy and a little dose of creativity.

Happy creating,

Sue

OnStage Melbourne 2024 and New Catalogue News

Retiring in colours 2024 Annual catalogue 2024I'm just back from a very enjoyable couple of days in the city with the Stampin' Up! crowd.  We had a terrific time catching up in person, and getting inspired with some sneak peeks at the upcoming new Annual Catalogue.  This catalogue starts in May (which I'm sure will be upon us in a flash at the rate this year is flying by.)  If you've ordered in the last 6 months or so I'll be posting out a complimentary copy of the catalogue so keep an eye on the post in April.

A new catalogue coming soon means that our current ones are finishing up next month.  We will be into 'while stocks last' time very soon and I'll send a quick newsletter to let you know when the retiring lists come out.  If you need any of our soon to retire in colours - Sweet Sorbet, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis or Parakeet Party - I'd grab them ASAP as the retiring in colour reinkers etc always seem to go in a flash.

Here's a peek at the new about to be released in colours - not the best of photos sorry but gives a bit of an idea.  The colours look a bit lighter and fresher in real life.

Colour chart new in colours

A big thanks to all my fab customers, class ladies from over the years, social media supporters and team - I enjoyed celebrating my 15th anniversary as a demonstrator and walking across the stage with 4 friends/team mates also marking their 15th year of creativity and friendship.  Was chuffed to get a sales award as well which is definitely shared with all my lovely customers.

Stage walk 15 years

Next year we are off to Brisbane for Onstage 2025.  (Think about joining the fun as a demonstrator sometime this year if you'd love to join in all the Onstage excitement next time round.)

Host Code March/April:

Host Code Sue Madex March April 2024My new host code is QE9KCX7Z and this one runs from mid March until about mid April.

Pop that on if you're ordering online and I'll send you a little sample pack in my next mail out.

(If you've used the host code in recent months - good news patient people.  I've had a very productive afternoon and have packaged up some DSP samples (a few extra ones to make up for running a bit slow this time!) and they're in envelopes with the addresses written and postage stamps all stuck.  All set to pop in the post on Monday so keep an eye out for some happy mail soon.) Next host code mail out will be late May.

Madex Creations Newsletter Update

Do you get my Madex Creations Newsletter in your inbox?  I've made some small changes there too and it now is sent from smadex (at) madexcreations.com instead of my bigpond email.  If you usually get my newsletter and you can't see the one I sent today - have a quick check of your junk mail - it might have gone astray if your email program didn't recognise the new address.

Well - I think that is about all the Stampin' Up! news for now.

Have a terrific week and happy stamping.

Cheers, Sue

Flight and Airy Card Featuring Heartfelt Hexagon Punch

Flight and Airy card

This has been a very popular Saleabration paper - the Flight and Airy DSP.  Isn't it pretty.  I also love the new Heartfelt Hexagon Punch.  If you know me you'll know that I just love a punch I can use to tile patterned papers with for a quick and simple card.  I think this is my new favourite.

I've added another day at work this year so am teaching Mondays to Thursdays now.  So quick and simple will continue to be my middle name I think in the card making space.  Although I am still loving those never ending cards - I think I'm up to about 6 so far this year.  They're much easier than they look.

Newsletter - the rules have changed in cyberland for sending newsletters and I have to make a few back of house tweaks with my newsletter program.  Hoping to finish that by the end of the month then get back to my regular monthly newsletter update.  In the meantime - pop me an email or text if you have any Stampin' Up questions.
