Banners Framelit Card

At class this month we used the new Banners Framelits to make one of our cards.  Grab some DSP and coordinating cardstock colours and use the framelits to cut yourself some banners.  Some washi tape or ribbon to trim, pop it onto a card and you're all set.  A nice, quick and easy card.  This one uses the 3 largest size banners in the set.

The Banners Framelits are $45.95 and include 6 sizes.  Find them here:  Banners Framelits

Love the new Arrows Embossing Folder too.  (Here for $13.95)

We used the Sweet Sorbet DSP (patterned paper) in class.  The coordinating colours are Black, Crisp Cantaloupe,  Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Summer Starfruit and Whisper White.  Did you know you can find the coordinating colours for DSP on the back of the pack - handy having that list there.  Colours are also listed in the catalogue for your reference.

Get the Sweet Sorbet DSP free until the end of March with any $90 purchase.  (Or choose something else from the Saleabration freebies.)

Other products on this card: Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Crisp Cantaloupe Ribbon, Banner Burst stamp set and Banner punch.

I'll be back over the weekend with another variation on this card. This was one of those classes where everyone's cards looked different depending on which patterned paper/colour they selected.

Have a fabulous Friday.

Cheers, Sue

Card Making Classes - Melbourne

Are you hoping to catch a card making class in February?  I've got space left on Thursday night if you'd like to try out some of the new products in our Occasions catalogue while you make 3 cards.

Here's a peek at one ......

You have some choices in colour scheme and greetings.  This is our class table all set up ready for some card making.  All tools and equipment are supplied so there's no need to bring a thing.  Class fee is $20 and this month that includes 3 cards with coordinating envelopes.

Phone 0417 377 057 or email if you'd like to grab a spot at the table this Thursday 27th February.

March classes are filling fast too so you might like to book early for one of those if there's a date that suits.  Details here.

Have a fabulous week.

Cheers, Sue

Santa's List Christmas Card

Another of our class cards from November and yes - Pinterest again for the inspiration. This time I CASEd this card from Stamps Well With Others.

Here's Santa's List stamp set playing nicely with the new Circles Flip Card Thinlits.

I wanted our card a little longer with a flap you could open to leave room for writing a longer Christmas message.  So I used a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock 8 1/2 inches long and a shade narrower than 5 1/2 inches wide.  Pop it underneath the Thinlit but tuck the edge that'll be the flap OVER the thinlit so that part doesn't cut.    It'll score a nice line so you can do this .....

Add a bit of festive DSP and some stamping and voila.  All done.  Here's another of the patterns in this DSP pack.    The 2 1/2 inch circle punch is a great one to have if you're getting this Circle Card Thinlit.  It fits so well inside the circle - leaving just a nice border around the edge.  The scallop circle comes in the Thinlit pack along with a few other bits and bobs.

Now speaking of making a list and checking it twice - I'd best be off to check my lists!!  And make sure my addle brain hasn't forgotten anyone.

Happy almost Christmas!

Cheers, Sue

Christmas Card Variation

Have just been unloading my camera and found this variation on one of our Christmas card classes a month or so back.  I like the darker cardstock.  Have you started your Christmas cards?  I'm not even thinking about cards or Christmas shopping until December this year. ;-)

Check my class page for November Christmas Card Class dates and details if you'd like to make 3 snazzy cards.

Have a great day.

Cheers, Sue

October Classes

Do you live in Melbourne's west?  Want to get creative in October?  I've got 6 class dates to choose from.  In my papercrafts class we're doing boxes and bags this month.  Come along and give the Bigz Bow Die, Expressions thinlits and Festive Flurry stamps and framelits a test run while you decorate 2 boxes and a muslin bag.  Perfect for Christmas gift giving.

Class fee is $20 and that includes everything.  No need to bring anything at all and classes are suitable for beginners and fun for experienced crafters too.  Classes are held at my place in Avondale Heights.

I've got space left on Thursday October 24th and 31st at 7.30pm and on Friday November 1st at 10.30 pm. Check out more details here:   Class Page

Want to find out more about our new program for digital creating - MDS.  I'm holding a free introductory class on Thursday 17th October at 7.30pm.  Grab a comfy chair and a cuppa and I'll hook my laptop up to the TV and show you a few things you can do with the program.  It is so much fun.

Phone or email to book a spot for an October class.

Hope to see you there.

Gatefold Christmas and Birthday Cards

Expressions thinlitsThis was another of the cards we did at last month's Christmas card class.

A gatefold card, held closed with a belly band of burlap.  (Ooh don't say that too fast, you'll trip over your tongue!)  We stapled the burlap - super easy.

The Merry is cut with the Expressions thinlits.  The thinlits have tiny holes so you can poke the lettering out with a paper piercer.

Tombow multipurpose glue is handy for sticking it to your project.

Must make something with the Love one too.  And have a scrapbooking idea for Thankful.

We also used Christmas Collectibles bundle - the ornament stamps and punch.  Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive for this card.  We used the White Craft Ink on the coloured cardstock, and the coloured ink on the white cardstock.  All works well together with coordinating colours.

Too early for you to be thinking about Christmas?   Here's a birthday variation instead just for you.

The greeting is the every so sassy Sassy Salutations.  Love the font.  I've added a couple of the cute self adhesive candy dots.  Love these.   And the gorgeous happy DSP is Birthday Basics

Last few days of the school holidays here.  Is it bad if I'm looking forward to the Christmas holidays already!  Quite enjoyed the nice relaxed pace of this week with not much on the calendar.

The kids have been enjoying a bit of holiday craft too. They dug out this air pump art thingy from the toy vaults and have been having fun with it.  Creating is fun.  Hope you get some creating time this week.

Happy stamping!

Cheers, Sue

Stampin' Up: Joyful Christmas Card

Another of our Christmas cards from my September classes.   This one features the Joyful Christmas stamp set.  I stamped it on vellum using the Gold Encore ink then flipped it over and coloured in on the reverse side with a Cherry Cobbler marker.  Cut a second smaller flower from Cherry Cobbler cardstock stamped in the gold ink.  A Very Vintage button is a nice finishing touch. The background panel is vellum embossed with the new Stylish Stripes embossing folder and attached to a piece of Naturals White cardstock.  I do love the soft look of embossed vellum.

Very vintage buttons

I'm really liking the Expressions thinlits too.  Didn't the merry come up well in our new gold foil card.  I used Tombow glue to stick it down.

Have a fabulous day!

Special Season Christmas Card

Looking for some Christmas card ideas?   At my September Christmas Card classes we made 3 cards using some of the Christmas things in the new holiday catalogue.  (Browse all the Christmas products here - Online Store Christmas Section.)  I'll be sharing the cards with you over the coming week.

I quite liked this one with Special Season stamp set.

The DSP is Winter Frost and that's Pool Party at the top embossed with the Pretty Print embossing folder.  I'm rather addicted to embossing folders - I think I have them all.  Can't resist a new pattern.  This one is handy for lots of occasions.

Pretty print embossing folder

The card base is Naturals White and the panel with the tree is my favourite - Shimmery White cardstock.

I went a little overboard with sponging the Encore Silver ink around the tree because I had to disguise a fingerprint. Oops   ;-)   Watch out when using the silver ink - it takes a little longer to dry than the regular inks.  It is just lovely though - gives a nice crisp silver.

Silver encore ink pad

I used StazOn to stamp the greeting over the tree.   (From Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set.)

The touches of sparkle on the tree are done with the Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details.   LOVE those Frosted Finishes embellishments

So are you a traditional Christmas colours crafter, or do you like the non traditionals?  I quite love blues and silvers on Christmas cards.

We have meat for the BBQ, snacks for the tummies, a bunch of scarves to decorate the loungeroom and a few extra Madex's coming over to help cheer on our team in the grand final.  Looking forward to a fun, family day - and hopefully a win!

Six Sided Sampler Card: Love Hexagons

Last month at class we used several of the stamp and punch bundles.  This card featured the Six Sided Sampler bundle which is one of my favourites.

Colours are Smoky Slate, Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush.

Here's another variation using the same colour combo.

I think these cards were inspired by something I saw using google images or pinterest but I can't seem to find it now.  I'll be back to link if I track it down.

Have a great weekend.

Cheers, Sue

Chalk Talk Class Card

Here's one of the cards we've been making this month at my card making classes (in Melbourne's west.  Space left tonight if you'd like to join us - phone, email, txt to book your spot.)

(Inspired by this Kimberley Van Diepen card - third one down)

Tried out my new Alphabet Press embossing folder - comes up well in the black I think.

We've layered up some strips of Modern Medley DSP, some lace tape (self adhesive - very handy!) and half a paper doily. Plus a scrap of the yummy Cherry Cobbler Chevron Ribbon.

This month we're featuring product bundles at class. This one uses Chalk Talk stamp set and framelits.

Before I sign off for today I thought I'd show you another creative effort for this week - Jack's Book Week 2013 costume.  He's been enjoying the Fly Guy books lately so we thought we'd go with that.

Here's the cover that was our inspiration .....

Fly guy book

And here's my Fly Guy.

I used a Stampin' Up box for the body, some bonboniere bags for the wings, a plastic tablecloth with a hole cut in it for the background, a big pair of costume sunnies with two sieves (handles removed) for the fly eyes, and tape/staples/string to hold it all together.   We were pretty chuffed with the results.  And all nice and easy to take off after the parade.

See you again soon - I've been photographing a bunch of projects so will have more to share very soon.

Cheers, Sue
