Simple To Stepped Up: One Design, Three Cards

Simple to Stepped Up

For this design I started with a very simple card.  Just one panel and one layer of stamping.  The panel is 7cm x 11.5cm.  Stamp Set is Sending Smiles, and the colours are three of our new in colours - Sweet Sorbet, Orchid Oasis and Parakeet Party.

For the middle card I added the Sending Dies and cut the greeting panel and one of the flowers just to add a little bit of detail.

For the third card I've matted the feature panel using some of the Sweet Sorbet cardstock, and I've die cut more of the flowers.  I've also stamped some extra blossoms using Daffodil Delight ink.

Which is your favourite?  I'm a simple fan so I think I quite like the one on the left.

Card 2

I've been quite productive at my craft desk the last week or two so I'll be back soon with some more projects to share.  Or catch me on facebook or instagram.  Find me at SueMadexPapercrafts over there.

If you love the look of those pretty In Colors - just reminding you we've got a great joining special this month that is rather too good to resist if you have a bit on your new catalogue wish list.  Choose any $235 of products, pay just $169 and you get a bonus In Color pack with all 5 ink pads, a cardstock pack, 6" x 6" DSP and some handy grid paper - all free.    More info and the joining link here:   Grab Some Free In Colors

Fussy Cutting: Hues Of Happiness

Hues Of Happiness Card 3 Stampin Up

I was doing a practice stamp with this greeting for another card and it stamped perfectly and in a complete fluke was nicely positioned on my offcut of white cardstock.  So I decided to use it for another simple Hues Of Happiness DSP card.  The larger flowers from this patterned paper are great for cutting out.  There are quite a few colours to choose from with this pack of paper.  These two designs are the ones I love cutting individual flowers from.  (I'm not a huge fussy cutting fan but these ones aren't too fiddly I find.)

Stamp Sets: Nature's Greetings and Sending Smiles

Here's the finished card.  I've just stamped some leaves (from the Sending Smiles stamp set) and glued on the flowers to finish.  A nice simple one.

Have a lovely weekend.  We've got a pretty quiet one this weekend so a bit more time in the craft room in my weekend plans.

Happy stamping!

Hues Of Happiness: Card Two

Hues of happiness card 2

I had some 3" strips of this paper leftover after I'd make a DSP reference page. (You might see that pop up in a video or story when I'm featuring the paper in a project.)  So of course I punched a great pile of these shapes and whipped up a few simple cards on white bases.  This design is a long term favourite.

The greeting I've used there is from Nature's Prints stamp set.  This was a new stamp set so I first needed to add the sticky labels to each rubber stamp.  Here's a few pics of how I do that these days - a slight tweak to my method that I'm finding helps get the label on nice and flat without bumps.

Mount stamps 1

First peel the whole sticker from the sticker sheet (with it's backing.)   Place it on a clear block of a similar size.

Mount stamps 2

Now the sometimes tricky bit - peel the backing off.  It is then easy to hover the block over your rubber stamp and check the positioning before plonking it down.  Do this step slowly as once it is stuck on - it is staying there.  With your rubber stamp on a flat surface, I find putting the sticker onto a clear block and pressing it down onto the stamp helps me end up with a nice flat finish.

And now you're all set to stamp your greeting.  (Or peel it off the block and place it back in the case if you're not stamping just yet.)

For this card I used the 'Hello There' greeting from the set and I've cut it out with the Beautiful Shapes dies and my Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine.  If you don't have a die cutting machine - a punch that fits your greeting will work well.

And here's our finished card.

Featuring Hues Of Happiness DSP by Stampin' Up!

This week I am featuring .....

This week I am featuring Hues of Happiness DSP.  This is a gorgeous pack of patterned paper with colourful flowers on one side and some painted canvas look panels on the other.  Plus a few other patterns in vibrant colourful shades.

When I first open a new pack of paper I like to grab out my favourite Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch and a basic white cardstock base and whip up a quick simple card.  Nice way to get warmed up and I love to see how the various patterns coordinate.

The greeting for this card is from Nature's Prints stamp set.  I do love that combo of fonts.  I've stamped it using one of the new In Colors - Sweet Sorbet.   Just a handful of supplies for this one so it is a great design if you feel like creating but don't want to get EVERYTHING out.  :-)

I'll share some more cards using this paper this week here and on my social media pages.  If you are on facebook or instagram you can find me at SueMadexPapercrafts.

Have a terrific week.

Cheers, Sue
