Craft Desk Tidy Up

With all the time inside lately I've been gradually chipping away at getting my craft desk less cluttered, more functional and also a bit prettier.  I'm spending so much more time in this room - time to get it looking like a nice place to create.

Desk 2

Very happy with how my desk is looking after a big almost spring cleaning session.  I've moved lots of things off the desk surface and I've tried to have everything that I use most often in easy reach.  The things I use less frequently I moved to a nearby bookcase.  I might tweak this in the coming weeks as I made some more cards and see what is best to put where.

Desk

All clear and ready for me to get those inks and papers out and get creative.  My ipad/phone stand is what I use for my video shooting, and it is handy for some Netflix or youtube on at the side while I'm having a craft session.

I've made a nice old mess of course in a few other spaces so hopefully this spring sorting burst of energy lasts long enough for me to get through some more of those piles!  I've got a bad habit of starting ten different decluttering projects and not quite getting to the finish.  :-)

Have you been tackling any sorting out projects lately?

Happy creating.

Cheers, Sue

Gnome Christmas Card and Two Hello Cards

In today's video I'm sharing some of the latest creations from my craft desk - one cute Christmas card featuring those gorgeous gnomes plus two simple hello cards.  Such a year isn't it for sending a card in the mail to someone to check on how they are going and just to make that connection.

I hope you're staying well and warm this weekend.  I posted some funny memes on our Madex family facebook group and wrote 'Sunday funnies.'  TOTALLY thought it was Sunday so now I'm rather stoked as it means I just 'gained' an extra day in my weekend - ha ha.

Have a fab weekend everyone and happy stamping.

Cheers, Sue

Snowflake Wishes Bundle: Christmas Cards

Snowflake cards (2)

With our hot summer Christmases here in Australia, snowflakes for Christmas cards can be a bit of a love/hate.  I personally LOVE them and this current bundle is a favourite.  What about you?  Are you a snowflake fan?

So many snowflakes

The dies with this bundle cut out the outline of the stamps plus some cut beautiful embossed snowflakes.  I really love the stitched shape with the snowflake detail - isn't it pretty.

CHECKING IN

How are you going?  I hope you are navigating through this bonkers 2020 as best as possible.  It is certainly testing us all isn't it.  I seem to be alternating between faffing about getting nothing done one day and having a productive burst the next.  In my energetic bursts I'm working on a mountain of paperwork sorting, reorganising our filing cabinet and getting some boxes of junk under control.  The sentimental stuff is the bit that always slows me up - but I'm finding some great treasures along the way.  Have you got any projects on the go?  I hope you're finding some things to enjoy while we all spend some more time at home this year.

Take care and happy creating,

Sue

Making Christmas Cards: Poinsettia Bundle

Final 13

Here's a card using non traditional colours for you today - I love blues and purples for some alternative Christmas cards.

Final 14

For this card I've used just the dies from the bundle.  I love how they cut and also have some embossing for the petals.  Those pearl centres are so so pretty.  More details of the products used below.

Fgif meI hope you are keeping well.   I've taken a few days off creating to get stuck into some big time sorting and purging at my place.  I'm part way through attacking my email inbox.  Read a method somewhere that I'm trying - I've moved everything except July/Aug to another 'to sort' folder and now I've sorted that into 'from' category and am working my way through deleting and sorting the ones I need to hang onto into a few folders.  I'm up to M - wish me luck!  Are you a tidy inbox person or a complete mess like me?

We've also got piles and boxes and more piles and more boxes of assorted paperwork, memorabilia and junk here from the study and assorted other spots.  I was hunting through it all to try to find a travel journal I'd kept on a London/Paris holiday a few years ago so I could use it for some scrapbooking.  The amount of mess to sort through is a bit overwhelming - aagghh!  So decided it was way overdue to stop procrastinating and just dig in and grab a pile.   Starting is one of the biggest steps isn't it.   Found a few treasures along the way that brought a smile to the day.

Good luck with any projects you've got on the go at the moment.  I seem to alternate every few days between getting nothing productive done at all, and having a burst of energy.  Trying to just go with the flow and make the most of the bursts of energy when they happen.  I hope you are keeping well and staying in good spirits.

Take care,  Sue
