Stampin' Up! Aug - Dec Mini Catalogue: Christmas Product Peek

Not long now until our new August - December Mini Catalogue kicks off - it goes live on August 4th.  Catalogues have started arriving in letterboxes so if you've ordered in the last year or so from me yours should be at your place or arriving very soon.  I've got some spares here so get in touch if you're getting back into your crafts and would like a catalogue posted.

In this video I'll give you a closer look at some of my favourites from our new range.

And if you're looking for some simple cards to whip up at home - I've got another video here showing you how to use the Postage Stamp punch and Forever Greenery patterned paper to make these lovely cards.  This design is adaptable to other punches and papers of course.

Here's a pic of a couple of these cards.  I love this design and am looking forward to trying it with some other DSP.

And when I was digging through my card stash I found these two variations on this design from way way back when I'd just joined Stampin' Up and started cardmaking.  (Rolling the clock back a decade or so.)  These ones use a circle punch.  The Cherry Cobbler card was from before I had a die cutting/embossing machine so I've scored lines for some added subtle texture.

I hope you are staying safe and keeping well - with an extra warm shout out to my fellow Victorians anxiously watching those numbers each day.  We hope to see them coming down soon with all the steps people are taking to hand sanitise, keep those 1.5m and mask up.  It is a turbulent year isn't it.  I hope you are finding some calm amongst all the rollercoastering.

Sending very warm wishes to you all,

Sue

Time For Cocktails Card

Cocktails

Drinks at home for a few months I think.  Mine are of the cardstock variety.  These cards feature the Nothing's Better Than ... bundle and you have a choice of cocktails, coffee, cookies and chocolate.  My half empty Maltesers box votes chocolate at our place!

Nothings better than bundle

I used ink pads to ink up the cocktail fillings and my Stampin' Blends for the little umbrella and citrus.

And how gorgeous are those pieces of our new rainbow glimmer paper.  It looked a little loud when I got it out of the pack but when you chop a chunk it looks fab.

MasksIt is a bit hard to see in the pic but with one leftover cocktail that I used on this card - I've added a shiny layer of shimmery crystal effects.  Leave it to dry overnight.  It is a little thicker than our previous big bottles but came up really well once dry.  It has a sprinkle of very fine glitter in it for added subtle sparkle.

I hope you are staying well and extra big best wishes to those back in level 3 restrictions and especially all those affected more directly due to their personal circumstances - missing seeing friends or family, with businesses impacted and all the other complications.

Had my first outing with one of my new masks this week.  (I ordered a few different styles and seeing which we like best.)  Definitely more people wearing them in recent days - the more of us there are, the less silly you feel.  Looks like they'll be part of heading out for shopping for a while to come.  Let's hope we start to see numbers come down again soon.

Here's a few cloth mask places if you're not a whiz on the sewing machine:

Multicolour Stamping: Large Flower

Did you know that you can use sponge daubers and inks with your Stamparatus stamp positioning tool to ink a multicolour flower for your handmade cards.

Final

Technique Tips:  First I positioned the flower stamp on my Stamparatus.  I inked it with the Petal Pink ink pad and stamped the image.  Then I added some Rococo Rose with a sponge dauber to some areas and stamped again.   I sponged some Crumb Cake ink onto the stems and leaves and stamped again.  The final one was with a touch of Soft Suede ink.  The end result is a lovely multicoloured flower.  This technique would work well with any large stamp.

Final 3

Cardstock Colours:  Crumb Cake, Petal Pink, Shimmery White

The first half of this video gives you a closer look at how to make this card.

The card below has a more subtle variation of the same technique.  I've stamped first with Crumb Cake on the Petal Pink cardstock then added a touch of Soft Suede.

Wishing you a cosy weekend.  Bit chilly here so I'm enjoying snuggling up at home - might be time to go find a lap blanket I think!

Take care and stay safe,

Sue
