Lovely-lattice-1

I've used the Lovely Lattice stamp set for my cards.  It is one of the Level 1 freebies so spend $90 and you can choose this free.  For this card I've embossed it in white onto shimmery white cardstock then coloured it with some of our Stampin' Blends.  The foil edge cards have coordinating foil edge envelopes.  You can get packs in either silver or gold.  I love them.

We did this at class in Feb and I always like to have an option there for my class regulars who like to keep it simple and are not so into colouring.   This one was also embossed in white onto Crumb Cake cardstock.  I coloured the flowers with my wink of stella pen which is the touches of sparkle you can see there.

Now it is time to head on over to my lovely talented friend Tina Gillespie to continue along on the hop.

AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop: Pineapple Punch

Colour creations

Pineapple punchOops that was a slightly longer break from our weekly colour creations blog hop than I'd intended.  Back again with the crew this week though for Pineapple Punch.

I don't think I've actually used this colour before!  It is a bright, happy yellow.

Today I decided to give it a whirl with some watercolouring and teamed it with Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Mango Melody.

I coloured the flowers with Pineapple Punch ink and used the cardstock for the word and for the narrow trim.

This card is based on a beautiful Gail Ellis design (here.)

I've been enjoying playing with this technique.  I've used watercolour paper and taped off a border using low tack adhesive painters tape from Bunnings.   It helps to wet the watercolour paper first.  I usually pop a few drops of my various colours of reinker onto a clear block which I use as a palette.  I couldn't find my Pineapple Punch reinker so instead I pressed a small clear block into the ink pad then used my aquapainter to grab the colour.  So much fun to just play around with the colours.  I'm going on a craft retreat soon (my first!) so I think I'll take a bunch of these and colour away.  Very relaxing.

Here's a closer look at a few bits.  I have no idea what I'm doing with watercolouring really but it is fun and you really can't go wrong.  They all seem to dry quite nicely.  Great technique to play with to feel a bit artistic.

My base card is Crumb Cake and I've embossed the flowers and leaves from Wonderful Romance stamp set with white embossing powder for a soft look.  Rather hard to see when you're starting to colour but got there in the end.

Happy stamping!

I'll be back on Thursday for our February Blog Hop.

Tea Together

Tea together

Isn't this a lovely suite of products.   It always makes me feel like putting the kettle on.  I spent a rather tiring but FABULOUS couple of days last week taking a Prep class for their first 2 days of school as their teacher was unwell.  They were just gorgeous and I thoroughly enjoyed helping them get off to a happy start at school.  Definitely looked forward to a nice cup of tea at the end!   (Possibly followed by the glass of wine - ha ha.)

The Tea Together stamp set is on page 49 of the Occasions Catalogue.  It is $38 for a set of 9 cling stamps.

If you spend $180 on products of your choice you can select the coordinating framelits for free.

Time for me to go make a cup of tea I think and get started on my long list of Monday jobs!

I have ticked one job off the list already and that was to set up a new host code for February.

SchoolIt is EXGHFKSJ.  Pop that on if you're placing an order under $250 and I'll pop a little something in the post for you next month.  If you used the January host code, I've ordered our goodies today so once they arrive I'll get chopping and get them on their way.

Anyone busy with back to school weeks and getting back into the regular routine?

My two are in Year 11 and Year 8 this year.  Doesn't it fly by?  Jack's taller than Hannah for this year's pic - that's a first.  They told me that really they were a bit too old for a first day pic but I told them they really must not know me at all if they thought that was going to fly!

I'm quite sure I'm going to blink and the school years will be all done so focusing on enjoying the hustle and bustle of the present.

Our prep teacher is better again so I'm back to my regular maths role.  Just between you and me I'm going to rather miss those little cuties!

Have a great week and I hope your February is off to a stellar start.

Cheers, Sue
