Saleabration: Last Day

Today is the last day of Saleabration for 2017.  If you've been meaning to place a $90 order to grab a freebie (or two with $180 etc) then get that in by tonight online, or get in touch if you prefer to order by phone or email.

Here's a few pics of some of the options.  (Was in a rush so slightly dodgy on the photography today!)

Reverse Words stamp set  - comes up well in a couple of colours.  I stamped the orange and dabbed on some watermelon wonder direct to the rubber before stamping.

Cheers card

The lace set is just gorgeous.  It is called Delicate Details.  Check it out in pinterest - so many lovely ways to use this set.  Here's a simple one - just a little lace added to the edge of the patterned paper.  (I'm sure I was inspired by someone's creation when making this card but I can't seem to find the original.  I'll pop back and edit this post if I track it down.)

Balloons and Butterflies

Another soft feminine card from my day of creating with the Falling In Love DSP.

Balloon-sparkly

Tips and Techniques: The detailed balloon is cut from Shimmery White cardstock and given a coating of Wink Of Stella clear (glitter brush) to add some extra razzle dazzle.   Did you know you can see a list of all the coordinating colours for the packs or pads of DSP (patterned paper) - on the back of the 12 x 12 pack or if it is a pad of DSP it is listed on the cover.

Sparkly-balloon

Getting these balloon thinlits or one of our other detailed thinlits?  I'd recommend our lovely fine tip glue.  Doubles as an eye test when you're putting the lid back on!

Have a wonderful long weekend.  I'm having a day visiting my mum tomorrow which I'm looking forward to.  Might take along some craft supplies and have a bit of a craft session while we catch up on all the news.  After a busy week I'm quite looking forward to the drive too with just me and my music blaring away in the car!

Happy stamping!

Falling In Love DSP: Card 2

3-panel-card

Today I'm featuring another card made with the beautiful Falling In Love DSP.  It is just so easy to create something soft and pretty with this paper.

Tips and Techniques: Using a pack of our Designers Series Papers makes it easy to choose 3 designs that will coordinate well together.  I've used one of the neutral patterns in the pack for the greeting panel and another for the oval.  The greeting is cut with one of the shapes in the Project Life framelits.  I use this one a lot - very handy for long thin greetings.  The lace doilies have a white and a vanilla side so choose the one that best matches your papers.

Our camper is home again.  She had a pretty good time.  They hiked a total of 18km over 3 days with a heavy backpack to carry all their gear.  Slept in tents and did their own cooking on camp stoves.  Sounds like quite an adventure.  She's not the most enthusiastic camper of all time so is quite pleased to have reached the end of the compulsory camps at school.  I think they've had a wide range of exciting challenges through the camping program so I'm a bit of a fan.  Nice to have her back home again.  It is much quieter when she's away, and WAY less negotiating every little thing but I missed her bubbly presence at home.

Cheers,

Sue

Inspired By The Catalogue: Balloon Card

Balloon-card-1

I've taken inspiration from the Occasions Catalogue for today's card.  This was one of the cards we made at February card classes.  (Keen to catch a card making class in March? Dates and details here:  Classes)

It features the Lift Me Up stamp set and coordinating Up and Away thinlits.  I love how you can cut each stripe of the balloon in different colours then layer the detailed balloon over the top.  See the different pieces there at the left in this pic.

Balloon bundle

Colours: I've used Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette and White for the stripes then Basic Gray over the top for the detailed layer.  Soft Sky for the base layer and some cute clouds to finish.

Balloon Options:  You can either keep the balloon basket on (such as in my card below) or you can snip it off and replace it with a little stamped note (see card above.)   There are a bunch of different balloon themed greetings in a snazzy font.

Adhesives: I used the fine tip glue for this one.  You just need a little.  I'm not the biggest fan of liquid glues (I always seem to get them EVERYWHERE!) but I quite liked the fine tip glue for this project.

Balloon-card-2

Have you ever been in a hot air balloon?  I love watching them on the horizon from our back balcony on clear mornings.  John and I (and a little bump that was to be Hannah) went up in one in Canberra.  Such a smooth ride and so quiet.  A memorable trip and great views of our capital city.

I'm enjoying creating with the balloon bundle.  Get the stamp set and thinlits as a bundle and save 10%.

Have a fabulous day.

Cheers, Sue

80th Birthday Card: Happy Birthday Fran

80-birthday-2

Wishing my mother in law a very happy 80th birthday today.  She loves butterflies so I used the pretty butterfly paper as the base for this card.  The Large Number Framelits are so handy to have it the stash for those milestone birthdays aren't they.  I cut these numbers from the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper - my favourite.

Tips and Techniques:  The Stitched Shape framelits are just so versatile.  I love how the stitched border around the shape just adds a lovely finishing touch to the layer.  With a plain oval I'd probably add a matting layer with another colour, but with the stitched edge the oval works well on its own.   I go through a ton of glue dots - they're really useful for adding elements like the word and butterfly and also the numbers in this card  Use a paper piercer to take one off the roll and position it.  They roll nicely if you need a skinnier adhesive.  The new doilies have a white side and a vanilla side - so you can choose the shading that works best with your project.  I've used the vanilla on this card.  The little butterfly and the word love are both cut with the Sunshine Wishes framelits.

80-birthday

Have a wonderful weekend.   I'm looking forward to welcoming our camper back home this afternoon.  (Not so much looking forward to the mountain of washing from the suitcase!  Glad our washing machine is back working again.)

Cheers,

Sue

Falling In Love DSP: Card 1

Live-love-laugh-2

Aren't the Falling In Love Designer Series Papers so pretty?  I just love the soft feminine designs - some are photo style and some are soft patterns.  They're all beautiful and so easy to create with.  I got on a creative roll last weekend and whipped up a batch of cards using these papers and some coordinating cardstock and a few other bits and pieces.

Tips and Techniques:  This one is so simple.  Just a piece of the lace design paper cut to 10cm by 14.2cm and a Crumb Cake wrap made with the So Detailed Thinlits Die (page 52.)  For the greeting I used a marker so that I could just ink up the Live Laugh Love part. The greeting is from the Beautiful You stamp set (page 24.)

Marker tip

I stamped the greeting first then used the thinlit to cut the lacy panel out.  Some little pearls make a nice finishing touch.

Live-love-laugh

I'll be back very soon with some of my other weekend creations.

Very quiet at our place this week (other than the sound of sneezing and nose blowing as we all take it in turns to have head colds!)  Ms H is off at camp so with just one child at home the kids' arguing levels have somewhat diminished!  Looking forward to her return tomorrow and hearing all about her adventures.  They were hiking and sleeping in tents and doing their own campfire cooking plus some surfing lessons so should be lots of news to catch up on.

Happy stamping!

Cheers, Sue
