Hello all. We're back from soaking up the sun on Hamilton Island for a week with the family. What a fun week. I've popped a couple of pics below. Lots of swimming, snorkeling, hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking plus plenty of time to relax and recharge the batteries. I managed to squeeze in 3 novels - bliss. Home again now and excited to share some more cards with you. (Would you believe my craft desk is still tidy and organised so I can actually work at it - what a miracle!)
Here's my favourite Christmas card so far and one of the ones we made at September card classes. (October/November dates coming very soon.)

Tips and Techniques: This is officially my favourite set at the moment from our Holiday Catalogue. I LOVE the Star of Light stamp set and coordinating Starlight Thinlit Dies. This was a pretty quick and easy card to put together but I love how it looks. Base card is Dapper Denim. I've stamped the greeting and stars onto Shimmery White card using Dapper Denim ink. Hint: I found it easiest to start with the greeting then you could work the positioning of the swoosh of stars to fit with that. Tried it the other way around and it was hard to fit the greeting in. (Love that greeting by the way - what a nice message to send to our loves.)
Next up cut a star from Gold Foil Card then cut one of the detailed ones from Gold Glimmer Paper. The glimmer paper can be a little tricky to cut. I found it helped to peel off the backing layer, or to put the thinlit on the backing side so it cuts through that first. I had to poke the little bits out with a paper piercer (or poky thing as we call it at class) - the die brush didn't quite seem to be as effective on this particular combo of glimmer/thinlit. Well worth a few minutes poking out the little pieces for such a lovely result. We used glue dots squished a little (just roll them) to attach the glimmer layer to the gold layer. One of the metallic enamel shapes was a nice finishing touch in the centre. One of my September class ladies used a pearl and that looked good too.

To finish I've used some of the gold satin ribbon with some of the narrow gold ribbon tied around it.
I can't wait to try some more cards with this bundle. There are so many lovely things you can make with it.
PS: Here's a couple of travel pics from our week in the sun. Loved the snorkeling and we splurged on a helicopter trip over the reef which was a real highlight of the trip.

We were very lucky with the weather as it had been raining for 3 weeks apparently before we got there. Our garden got a nice old soaking by the sounds of it while we were away. I hope none of you were affected by the floods about the place.
Happy stamping!
Cheers, Sue
