Saleabration 2016: Flowering Fields

This set "Flowering Fields" has been one of the most popular Saleabration freebies with my customers.  And with me too.  I love what you can do with these pretty flowers.

Enjoy The Little Things Kit: Peek 2

Enjoy-the-little-things-2

Just a quick post today to show you another of the display pieces from the Enjoy The Little Things Kit.  I love the gold detailed metallic heart in this one.  The kit makes good use of wooden elements and metallic thread too.  Make the pages as per the instructions or use the pieces to do your own variations.

Freebie Time: Saleabration

Until the end of March you get to choose a free item with every $90 of products ordered.

Here's a card from Stampin' Up with one of the Saleabration freebies on offer "Honeycomb Happiness" stamp set.

Balloon Celebration: A Touch Of Pink

Some more balloon card inspiration for you today.  This one is a variation on Saturday's card.

Balloon-celebration-pink-tones

Tips and Techniques:  To make this one just grab a pack of your favourite Designer Series Paper.  I've used the Love Blossoms DSP Stack on page 17 of the Occasions catalogue.  (Note: There's a typo in the description - this is actually a pad of 6" x 6" squares,  not 12" x 12".)   You get 48 sheets with coordinating designs.  Makes it so easy to grab some that work well together.  Punch, arrange - all done.  You could whip up a bunch of these in a short time.  I was on a bit of a sparkly phase that day so added some coordinating Blushing Bride glimmer paper too.  Every day is better with a bit of  glitter I think.

Got anyone who could use some sparkle in the mail?  Add a pack of glimmer paper to your next order.  My favourite colour in the glimmer paper is our beautiful Dazzling Diamonds.  Such a nice shade that goes with anything.

Happy stamping!

Cheers, Sue

How is your weekend going?  Jack's team didn't make the basketball finals so that meant a nice Saturday sleep in at our place to kick off a quiet, pottering about the place weekend.  Just what we all need after a busy week.  I hope you get to do some relaxing this weekend.

Balloon Celebration: Now With Glitter

Balloons and sparkle - can't go too wrong with that combo.  Here's a sparkly option for your next balloon card.

Balloon-celebration-glitter-2

Tips and Techniques:  This one is a great option for if you're in a hurry.  So quick to just punch out a bunch of balloons in your favourite colours of glimmer paper.  (Thanks Ann - I loved the one you made at class that inspired this card.)  Stamp the strings and stick on your balloons - voila.  All done.  I found it easiest to arrange my balloons first then started from the top and adhere them one by one.  I used the bow from Balloon Framelits to cut a sparkly bow.  There is a bow stamp in the Balloon Celebration set you could use instead if you don't have that set of framelits.  Or if you're very clever with ribbon you could add a lovely ribbon bow for a nice finishing touch.  I'm all thumbs with ribbon so I love the 'zip it through the Big Shot' option.

I've used our lovely thick white for the card base, and our regular white for the section I've stamped on.  The smoothness of the regular white is great for stamping.  I've been going through LOTS of the thick white for the card bases.  A little sturdier so your card will stand up well.

Have a sparkly day!  See you soon for another dose of balloon inspiration.

Happy Stamping!

Balloon Celebration: Gorgeous Balloons

I've been having a ton of fun playing with the Balloon Celebration stamp set and coordinating Balloon Bouquet Punch.

Balloon-celebration-blue-sky

Tips and Techniques: There are a few different options for your balloon and I'll be showing you a range of them over the next week here on the blog.   This one uses the solid balloon stamped in coloured ink with the outline stamp over the top in black ink.  (I did have a nice reject pile where I missed on the outline - wink.  I find this stamp is one where it helps to stamp a bunch and keep trying til you get it lined up nicely.)

Balloon-celebration-practice

The clouds are from the same set.  I've stamped them in Whisper White craft ink.  I quite liked the splotchy effect I got (I think my ink pad needs reinking.)  Worked well for a mottled looking cloud.

Balloon-celebration-silver-strings

Some silver thread taped to the back of the balloons adds a nice detail.  Alternatively there are a range of 'balloon string' stamps in the set.

Balloon-celebration-blue-sky-2

I love the greeting.  I hope you get to 'enjoy your day' today.

Happy Stamping!

Cheers, Sue
