Honeycomb Happiness: Loving The Bird

Still loving this cute little bird from the stamp set Honeycomb Happiness.  (Free with a $90 purchase during Saleabration.)

Birdy-1

Tips and Techniques: I stamped him onto Shimmery White cardstock and used an aquapainter and some Soft Sky ink to paint a wash of colour.  Shimmery White is a handy option for watercolouring - the slightly shiny surface means you can do a little blending and it is less inclined to pill or go soggy.  Snip him out with some scissors.  I've used a square punch and some leftover scraps of Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (another freebie option during Saleabration.)

Birdy-2

Colouring is having a resurgence in popularity at the moment.  Seems like I see adult colouring books in every store.  They're fun aren't they.  I find the process of colouring so relaxing.  You can also use your stamps to make some great little pieces to colour then add to a card and post to someone special.  I enjoyed this article on some of the benefits of colouring in.  Huffington Post: Colouring Isn't Just For Kids

Here's another fun idea for our little bird.  Grab some of the cute little honeycomb embellishments (page 9 of your Occasions Catalogue) and add a tummy.  You can leave them as is or spritz on some colour.  Very cute.
