To do some Christmas shopping for your favourite craft lover, just head on over to my online store and have a browse.  Remember Aussie Post gets busy in December so place your order nice and early.

Phase 10Have a great day.  We're having a nice relaxing one here.  So lovely to get to a day with nothing on the calendar after a busy few weeks.

We've recently discovered the card game Phase 10 so I can see a game of that ahead for our afternoon I think.

Always nice to find a game that the whole family enjoys.  And one that doesn't need to be plugged in!  My two need a break from all things electronic today I think.

Cheers, Sue

More Birthdays: Hannah and John's Cards

October was a busy birthday month for us.  Hannah turned 12 and John had a birthday too.  Here's a couple of ideas for quick and easy birthday cards using Stampin' Up products.

(Term 4 is crazy busy here so quick and easy is my motto for dinners, parties, cards and everything else!!)

For Hannah I started with something sparkly - silver glimmer paper.   I cut some banners out using the Hearts A Flutter framelits then cut the Little Letters from each banner.  The DSP is from Confetti Celebrations.  Some candy dots and a rhinestone to finish.

And here is her Smartie cake - inspired by a swag of them in cyberspace.

Smartie-cake

For John's birthday I used my banner framelits (on special this week in the Weekly Deals) and one of the patterned papers from Flashback DSP to make a super simple card, decorate a bag to match and the envelope.  In the bag I put a home made voucher to go to the Wood Working Show and get some additions to the wood turning tool kit, and some hunks of wood to turn into projects.

Looking forward to seeing these turn into bowls and what not.  Isn't creating fun - whatever medium you prefer.

Happy creating!

Dad's 70th Birthday: Cards, Album and Malteser Cake

Malteserscake

We've had a few birthdays in our place in the last couple of months so there's been a bit of card making happening.  My dad had a milestone birthday.  Hannah and I made him this malteser cake (with some extra jaffas for a pop of red.)   Here's the card I made ....

Robot-card

The robot stamp is retired now.  I love the word bubble framelits - definitely a handy set to have in the framelit collection.

Hannah (12) made use of the Little Letters Framelits to make this card.

Poppy-card

Jack (8) elected for just a pen and a piece of paper.   Love his sense of humour.

Before his birthday I got in touch with a swag of relatives and got them to send a birthday message or funny memory.  MDS made it easy to put the scanned or typed messages, stories and photos together into a photobook.

Here's a look at the front cover.  I used Well Word DSP throughout - the digital DSP packs make it easy to produce a coordinated look.

And the title page (with faces masked for privacy.)

Dad-70-Album-masked-faces

It is a bit of a personal gift so can't share too much more but it came up so well.  I think the nicest part of putting together photobooks is watching people read them.  Great way to capture lots of people's thoughts and a ton of funny anecdotes.   I kept it super simple - just picked a background paper, inserted the scanned letter or typed in a text box.  Added a matting layer and drop shadow.  Photos done with the same process on the facing page.

I'll be back next time with Hannah's birthday bits and pieces.

Cheers, Sue

Stampin' Up Gift Wrapping: Boxes and Bags

Got lots of little gifts to give this year?  Here's some ideas for ways to gift wrap something special for your friends or family.

Curvy-keepsake-box

This is one of my current favourites - the Curvy Keepsake Framelit.  Just cut two pieces, attach them together at the base then it folds together.  Comes with 3 little tag framelits too.

Perfect for a little gift.  It fits 2 Ferrero Rochers, or 2 Lindt Balls.  My class ladies voted it'd fit jewelry very well too!

For something a little larger, you might like the new Takeout Boxes.  Easy to dress up with a 'belly band.'  Slightly fiddly to fold together so don't try this one after a couple of Christmas champagnes!  ;-)

One last idea for today - here's an option using our pretty dotty bags.  Aren't they cute.  We dressed this one up at class last month.

NEW CHRISTMAS STAMP SETS

Really like this stars stamp set.  It coordinates with our stars framelits.  My team member Rachel let me know that she and a friend discovered that image in the top left fits beautifully into the tree punch too - handy to know.  We'll be using this set at my November Christmas Card Classes.

CHRISTMAS DECOR

Hannah and I have been having a lot of fun making up the 25 stars in this gorgeous kit.  There are a whole bunch of sizes.  They're 3D and everything is supplied.  We're finding an extra little dollop of craft glue is handy for keeping them firmly stuck together.  We're almost finished making up the stars then are looking forward to the decorating bit.

I'll have some more pics of this kit tomorrow.
