Sue's Retired Stock Sale

Retired stock boxes

Have you heard about my Retired Stock Sale?  (Sign up for my email newsletter at the top right there to get your Stampin' Up news, along with early notice of class dates and other events.)

It is spring cleaning time here and I've been digging through all my retired stock and have at least 4 big boxes of things looking for new homes.

If you're a local - come along to my Retired Stock Sale.  (Avondale Heights, Melbourne)

Two dates to choose from later this week:

Thursday 1st May:  7.30 - 8.30pm

Saturday 3rd May: 10am - 12.30

(Newsletter crew - note the change of date from my original newsletter. Accidentally double booked myself on the Friday!)

No need to book.  Just drop in during those times and have a browse.  I'll have all the things out on the table and they're priced to CLEAR (as I don't want to lug them all back downstairs again and Jack wants his wardrobe back!)

Payment can be made with cash or direct deposit only.

Heaps of things for $5, $10, $15, $20 and even a few things in my 'free to a good home' box.

Here's the latest batch of weekly deals too.  This is the last batch I think and you can find them in my online store until Tuesday night.

After a class this month?  I've just updated numbers for my May classes so pop on over and see if there's space in a date that suits you.  Click here:  May Classes.  We're doing a snazzy technique using inks and our embossing folders this month.

Have a wonderful week.

Happy stamping.

Cheers, Sue

Happy Easter

Wishing you and yours a very happy Easter.  We're off for a family lunch with the Madex clan today.  Looking forward to it.

Punch-art-easter-bunnies

Hannah (11) and her two friends made these during the week.  They always like to do a bit of craft when they get together here.  Punch art is a little out of my comfort zone so I was happy to find some inspiration for these bunnies here at ustamp4fun

Jack's Easter Bunny wishes you a safe and relaxing Easter too.

Stampin' Up and Project Life Team Up

Project life and stampin up

Wow what exciting news.  My two FAVOURITE companies are teaming up.  I cannot wait!!  Becky Higgins created the fabulous Project Life range of scrapbooking to help bring simple and easy and doable back to scrapbooking.   Now Stampin' Up are teaming up with Becky Higgins to bring you Project Life products in Stampin' Up's coordinating colours.  A match made in heaven!

Here's a peek I found of some of the products.  They'll be coming to us in our new catalogue - released to customers on July 1st.  (Or join the crew as a demonstrator and get an early peek!)

Project life stampin up

I spy a corner punch, framelits, stamps, journaling cards.  Can't WAIT!

Here's a link to the US Stampin' Up blog if you'd like to see more details:  Stampin' Up and Project Life Announcement

I've been using Project Life to do albums for a few years now and it is simply a fabulous system.  So easy to just slip in a photo, jot a story - done.  Or you can add embellishments and extras if you wish.  So customisable.  What I love is it is so doable.  I've gotten TONS more stories and little family moments into my albums doing things the Project Life way, instead of having them on my 'good intentions - to do one day' list which seemed to happen before.

I'll keep you posted on any news in the coming months about this collaboration.  Pop your email in to the registration box top right here on the blog if you'd like to get updates via my newsletter.

Happy memory keeping!!

Cheers, Sue

MDS: Scrapbooking Everyday Life - April

Wow April and I'm still up to date with our family album for the year.  That is a first for me I think.  Finding it super easy using MDS (My Digital Studio) and keeping the layouts super simple - just photos, a story and an occasional embellishment.   Here's some of my April pages ......

Bit of a health kick theme since that's been a big focus for this month.  (Just excuse the uneven borders - the pages are all white to the edge, that's my speedy cropping so they'd show up on this white background!)

Mds-layout-april-1

Lots of food pics in this month's pages!

Giving our new Monopoly set a test drive.  (Brings back memories of long games with my cousins when I was a kid. We'd always get out Monopoly when we got together.)  Plus the boys having a 'Boy's Cooking Night.'  Jack picked the recipe and helped John out in the kitchen.  Very tasty!

And April just wouldn't be complete without some loom band pics since they've taken over our house!

MDS has a nice option under View.  Just click View Project then click Photobook and it'll come up with a viewer allowing you to see your completed project to date with a nice page flipping motion.  I quite enjoying having a browse through our 2014 album so far.  What's that quote?  "The days are slow but the years are fast."  Certainly felt a bit like that.

Happy creating.

Cheers, Sue

PS:  Last day for this week's specials is today (Tuesday.)  There'll be a new batch in my online store around 9am tomorrow (Wednesday.)  Wonder what they'll be?

PS:   In non stamping chit chat .......  wish me luck - I'm cutting back from 6 coffees a day to 1 a day so probably need a few trinket and ribbons to distract me from having a headache - ha ha!

Inspired by Dr Libby Weaver to tweak a few healthy habits.  I loved her Ted Talk - watch it here.

She's got a great way of explaining things I think.  I liked it so much I tracked down her website and am currently working my way through a couple of her books.  Rushed Women's Syndrome is a great one.  Should be a must read for all we women (and men too although the book is aimed at women) who are trying to juggle all those different balls - work, family, children, parents, partners, health, leisure, friends, etc etc.  Anyway - don't mind me, I'm boring everyone to death talking about this lady and all the things I'm learning in her books.  Why at times we're tired and bloated and cranky and so on, and why our bodies are not working at their optimum sometimes in our modern lives.  Fascinating reading.  I'd highly recommend it!
