MDS Kids' Birthday Cards

2013_10_20_0030

I love MDS for making quick and easy kids' birthday cards.  Here's one I made for Jack's friend Xavier a few weeks ago.  I timed myself and it took exactly 5 mins.

Here's a few tips for creating this digital project with MDS:

* Lettering:  Junior Typeset Alphabet Punches.  Insert the letters then use the DSP/paper fill option to colour them.  Once you've filled the letter punch with DSP, double click on the letter and you'll find a zoom function where you can zoom in or out a bit to get it looking just as you'd like.

* Align:  Once your letters are on your project, click on all of them (hold down the CTRL key while you select each one.)  Then right click and find the align section.  One of the options is Align Top - this'll get them all the same distance from the top of the page.  Another option is Space Evenly Horizontally.  Super handy - this gets them all spaced evenly across the page.

* Splatter:  You'll find this in the stamps section.  Right next to add a stamp is add some splatter.  You can choose from a few different 'splatters' and can resize and recolour to suit your project.  If you're using the same one a few times, rotate them to mix it up a bit.

* Drop shadow:  I add a drop shadow to most objects in my project to give them that added depth.
