Grand Vacation 2013 Swap: Off The Grid and Swallowtail
Stampin Up Holiday Catalogue Is Here

Chalk Talk Class Card

Here's one of the cards we've been making this month at my card making classes (in Melbourne's west.  Space left tonight if you'd like to join us - phone, email, txt to book your spot.)

For-you-1

(Inspired by this Kimberley Van Diepen card - third one down)

Tried out my new Alphabet Press embossing folder - comes up well in the black I think.

We've layered up some strips of Modern Medley DSP, some lace tape (self adhesive - very handy!) and half a paper doily. Plus a scrap of the yummy Cherry Cobbler Chevron Ribbon.

This month we're featuring product bundles at class. This one uses Chalk Talk stamp set and framelits.

For-you-2

Before I sign off for today I thought I'd show you another creative effort for this week - Jack's Book Week 2013 costume.  He's been enjoying the Fly Guy books lately so we thought we'd go with that.

Here's the cover that was our inspiration .....

Fly guy book

And here's my Fly Guy.

Fly-guy

I used a Stampin' Up box for the body, some bonboniere bags for the wings, a plastic tablecloth with a hole cut in it for the background, a big pair of costume sunnies with two sieves (handles removed) for the fly eyes, and tape/staples/string to hold it all together.   We were pretty chuffed with the results.  And all nice and easy to take off after the parade.

See you again soon - I've been photographing a bunch of projects so will have more to share very soon.

Cheers, Sue

What a great fly! Glad you posted this pic - I forgot it is book week parade tomorrow. When I pick Miss 8 up in 15 minutes she will remind me.
