Would you like a peek at the annual Stampin' Up! Convention?? I'm just back from a fabulous fun filled few days in Brisbane and thought I'd share a taste of it with you.
What a terrific way to recharge the creative batteries, connect with lots of gorgeous friends and have a dose of inspiration. Here's a few little snippets .....
First up leadership day with great sessions, followed by a very elegant dinner to celebrate together.
Then Thursday saw the start of the main convention ....
Then Friday's awards night where we wore out the hands clapping then wore out the feet dancing! What fun.
A huge congratulations to my downline Kylie Bertucci who had a stellar year and achieved first place in Australia for both leadership and recruiting, along with a sales award. Well done - so thrilled for you.
Congratulations to my downline Judy Krake for achieving a sales award and stage walk. Yay. Go team!
Thanks heaps to all my gorgeous customers, Think Ink team members and class regulars. Thanks to your wonderful support over the year, I was excited to receive sales, leadership and recruiting awards plus a pin for achieving the Utah trip. Here's this year's batch of pins ...
One of the best things about convention is connecting with so many lovely friends.
And then home again Sunday to my sweeties. A big thanks to John for running the show so well at home while I was away. Uniforms washed, dishes done and happy smiling shiny children to greet me at the airport - what a lovely way to come home.
Before I sign off for tonight a couple of dates for the diaries .....
The Retiring Products list comes out THIS FRIDAY 31st May.
This will list all the products that'll be disappearing from our main catalogue and once listed they'll only be available while stocks last. Don't be disappointed - get in quickly, some things do sell out in the first day or so.
Popping into blogland quickly tonight to share a couple of MDS project I've been working on while watching the footy on TV tonight. My nephews are having a joint birthday party tomorrow and I've been using MDS to make their cards. I'm going to print these card fronts and attach them to cardstock cards.
James' card: I've used On The Go Designer Series Paper, Timeless Type Alphabet Punches (filled with DSP) and some digital stitching and transparent tape plus a few other bits and bobs. (Find all these in the MDS program.)
William's card: I've used MDS: Delight In The Day DSP, Epic Overlays for the letters - coloured with the colouring tool, and some embellishments from the On The Go kit.
I hope your weekend is going well. We've been enjoying some nice relax time today, as well as running a few errands (nephew birthday present shopping!)
2013 Stampin' Up Convention: Brisbane
I'm off to Brisbane on Wednesday for the 2013 Stampin' Up Convention. Can't wait - it should be heaps of fun. John's having a much needed few days off work and manning the fort at home. If my hotel wi fi cooperates I'll be posting convention updates for all those who love a bit of Stampin' Up news. I'll have updates on my facebook page too. Head over and like the page if you'd like some convention snippets. Facebook Page: Sue Madex
I've been enjoying a little creating time this morning - right from the comfort of my cosy bed. Me, a cuppa and my laptop plus some new MDS downloads and I can scrapbook a layout in just 5 or 10 minutes. Aaah. Here's today's effort using the Morning Post Alphabet template. All I had to do was drop in a photo from our farm visit last weekend, add some journaling and crop a little.
Actually I might have to duck back in and recolour those As in AWAITS as they're a bit faint against the dirt pile. Keep an eye out for a video soon on how to do that.
Speaking of scrapbooking and memory keeping - there's a couple of specials on this month you might be interested in.

If you've got a set of Dress Up Framelits and a stack of DSP (patterned paper) scraps you can have quite a fun time. We decided at April classes that it reminded us of playing paper dolls as kids. We started with choosing our 'fabric' for our dress then added the other elements. Black or Crumb Cake for the dress form, Naturals Ivory and the Ovals Framelit plus an embossing folder for the ovals, a coordinating base (Raspberry Ripple and Midnight Muse shown here) stamped using En Francais in Versamark. And some pretties to finish - ribbon, lace, a string of pearls, flowers. It is all in the accessories isn't it. ;-)
I've been a bit AWOL from blogland the last week or so. We enjoyed a fabulous long weekend on the farm of some family - so nice to be out of mobile range for a few days, enjoying the outdoors, the sun and wind. The kids had a ball playing with big dirt piles and the dog, digging up worms, fishing, toasting marshmallows and lots lots more.
What a great way to recharge all our batteries. Hope you get to recharge yours in some way this weekend.
