New Stampin Up Catalogue Launch 2012: The Wrap Up and Prize Winners

September means spring, school holidays, footy finals and of course - our new Stampin' Up catalogues.  And to kick them off in style a lovely group of ladies joined me over the last week for New Catalogue Launches.

Helpers-250It is always nice to share a bit of the new catalogue excitement with others isn't it.

My helpers (thanks sis and Miss 9) and I were busy, busy, busy for the last week or so getting everything ready.

Lots of paper chopping, goodie bag packing, project making and lollie bag filling to be done.

Launch-2

Finally launch night 1 arrived and we were all set .....

Inside the door there were catalogues and goodie bags to collect.

Launch-4

Including a yummy addition this year!

Launch-3

Lots of displays to browse before we gathered in the lounge room for a bit of a demonstration of a few new tools and other products.

Launch-room

A quick game of 'Heads Or Tails' delivered our first bunch of winners who chose an envelope or ribbon pack from the prize basket.

Launch-prizes

Then it was off to make a bookmark, complete our two make and take projects (I'll share those another day) and zip along the stations at the bench to try a few more stamps and a builder wheel.

Launch-bench

And in between times we could have a cuppa, browse our catalogues, rearrange our wish lists and chat.  We drew names from the cup over the evening for some lucky winners who chose a prize from the basket.

The ladies who placed an order at the launch all went in the draw for my Hostess Rewards Prize Draw.  There were LOTS of winners so let's have a little drum roll and get listing ........

Hmmm no drums, how about some sparkly snowflakes instead!

Blog Hop: New Stampin Up Australia Annual Catalogue

Like to see some of the gorgeous new products in the new Stampin' Up Australia Annual Catalogue in action?

Well you're in the right spot today.  Blog hop time again and if you jump round the 7 stops you'll see a bunch of great products featured.  And no doubt will have a few more things to add to your wish lists - nooooo, is your list as long as mine with this one?

OK time for some stamping inspiration so grab your cuppa and your post it notes and let's get hopping.

Waving a hi if you've arrived here from the ever so lovely Di Dunk's blog - and hello to anyone starting out from this patch of blogland.

I've chosen the very elegant Pleasant Poppies stamp set which you can find on page 129.

Poppies-1

Simple one to start off.  I've just embossed it in black on Crumb Cake cardstock and added a scrap of black ribbon to finish.

Here it is again with our new in colour  Summer Starfruit (I always want to call this a different name relating to babies' nappies - wink.   Loving it teamed with simple black though I must say.)   A little extra layering this time but still nice and simple.

Poppies-2

I love this set and can't wait to try it in a few more colours.  Wouldn't it look nice embossed in white on a dark cardstock.  Or watercoloured.  Aaah - so many things to try.   I think it should have been called Striking Poppies or Elegant Poppies or something slightly more spectacular than 'pleasant' - what do you think?

Get in touch with your Stampin' Up demonstrator if you'd like to add this one to your collection.  It fits very nicely on the largest block  - Block F.  If you don't have a really big clear block you might want to think about getting it in wood mount.

Poppies-3

OK time to head on to the next stop in the hop - the super talented Ros Davidson who always has something gorgeous to share.   Click here:   Ros Davidson's blog

Happy hopping and happy post it noting your catalogue!  (I just about ran out of post it notes with this one.)  And have a pleasant weekend.  Or perhaps a spectacular one!?

Cheers,  Sue

Perfectly Preserved: Card 3 and 4

Back again with some more jars.  Quite liking this Perfectly Preserved Bundle.  This card is one I made for my son Jack's 6th birthday at the end of August.

Jar-card-3

I had a play with the new Core'dinations cardstock and the woodgrain embossing folder - from the Holiday Mini.  If you get your Stampin' Up parcels delivered to home you might recognise that brown wrapping paper there too - doing a bit of recycling!

Jar-card-3b

I stamped the jar then cut it out with the coordinating framelit.  Then tapped it onto a versamark pad, then heat and stick powder, heat til tacky, then dazzling diamonds.  Equals - one sparkly jar!

Here's my birthday boy ......

Jack-lion

(All dressed up as a lion for the book week parade last month.  A mane quite suits him I think!)

With Princess Hannah .....

Kids

Pinterest helped with cake decorating ideas this year.  This cake would have looked a lot better if I'd bought a stack of regular kit kats and stuck them on whole.  I bought those long family blocks and tried to break or cut them apart and so it was a bit messy, but everyone loved it cracks and all.

Birthday-cake

Anyway - I'm getting off topic here aren't I!  Back to our jars.  Hannah (9) grabbed a spare one and my scraps basket and put this one together using our new favourite stamp set - Papillon Potpourri.

What would you put in a jar?  Do a google images search on Perfectly Preserved and you'll find a swag more snazzy ideas.

Happy stamping!

Cheers, Sue

Perfectly Preserved: Card 2

I've been having lots of fun with the snazzy jar from the Perfectly Preserved bundle.  (Page 29 Holiday Catalogue.)  Here's a quick and simple card.  I love cards that you can whip up in a flash.

Jar-card-2

Grab any pack of coordinating patterned paper.  I've used Orchard Harvest DSP and the Postage Stamp Punch for the squares.  The base is More Mustard.  Some Hemp Twine tied around the top of the jar for a finishing touch.

Jar-card-2b

I'll see you again tomorrow for another Perfectly Preserved creation - two actually, one from me and one from Hannah (my craft loving daughter.)

Have a great day!

Cheers, Sue

Perfectly Preserved: Card 1

Time to share some samples I think!  I've been having so much fun playing with my box of new catalogue goodies that I've forgotten to blog.  Let's kick off with 3 days of Perfectly Preserved Bundle (Holiday Catalogue page 29.)

Funny story with this bundle of stamps and framelits.  They flashed a pic of them up on the screen at convention and I thought, 'Nah, not for me.'  Then the presenter showed a bunch of gorgeous samples and I went from 'Nah' to 'Gotta have that jar' in a flash.  Quite often the way isn't it - you need to see it in action!

Jar-card-1

This card is a straight CASE of this one by Mary Fish from Stampin Pretty.  (LOVE her work.)  I quite like starting off with a CASE (or copy) of someone's design to get the brain into gear.  Sometimes I get halfway then start to tweak.   This time I just copied the card and that got me all fired up and ready to come up with my own.  (Come back tomorrow for that one.)

Jar-card-1b

The stamp set is a set of 14 and there's a coordinating set of framelits to help you cut out the main images easily.  Get the bundle and save 15%.   Page 29 of the Holiday Catalogue.

I'll see you tomorrow for another card featuring Perfectly Preserved plus the Orchard Harvest DSP.

Launch Update

Only 6 spots left Wedneday and 2 spots left Thursday for next week's launch nights.   Get in touch if you'd like to book in.  Details here.

Happy stamping!

Cheers, Sue
