Timeless Portrait Fabric and 3D Flowers

Red-and-black-card

Yes I'm still playing around with my Big Shot Top Note Die, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and Stampin' Up fabric.  This time it is one of the designs from the Timeless Portrait pack.  (Pg 140)  Love the black and vanilla.  SOOO nice with Cherry Cobbler.

Note: I've stuck my fabric onto cardstock with the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets on page 155 before running it through the Big Shot.

Red-and-black-3

I do quite like Cherry Cobbler stamped and sponged with black ink.  I'd really only ever sponged the same colour on to my cardstock and noticed a couple of swaps with the black sponging on red - very nice.  That's the great thing about taking part in swaps - you get lots of new ideas to try.

Speaking of new things to try - have to say a big thanks to Toby who showed me (and some of the other girls at last Thursday's launch) how to make these groovy flowers from 8 punched scalloped circles.  Works a treat with the nice light weight First Edition Specialty Paper (pg 127.)

Red-and-black-2

Toby showed us how to punch the scallops, dampen them on a wet sponge, scrunch them up then unscrunch them again (but don't smooth the wrinkles out too much) then layer them all on top of each other (without lining up the scallops) - little brad through the middle to hold them then give them a bit of a foof until you're happy with your flower.  Some sponging of ink too of course.  I love them. Thanks Tobes!

Stamp Set: The swirl in the background is from Creative Elements (pg 89)

Other: Cherry Cobbler Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (pg 139)

Finishing off with a couple of cards from Jack and Hannah.  My sister and I had a nice card making afternoon with the kids last Saturday using some leftover launch bits and pieces. Jack was VERY chuffed with his card. (Can you tell!?)

Jack-card

Here's Hannah's (left) and Jack's (right)

Kids-cards

I loved the insides too.  Jack wrote his for Lisa ....

Jack-card-inside
For Aunty Lisa.  Dear Lisa, I love you forever. From Jack

Hannah wrote hers for John and I ....

Hannah-card-inside
Dear Mum and Dad, Thanks for my lovely life and school and thanks for taking care of me when I'm sick, hurt and sad.  Love from your daughter Hannah

OK that probably helps the brownie point quota.  :-)

While I'm showing some of their cards, Hannah wanted to have a try with the fabric and with the 3D flowers.  She LOVES all things pink so of course chose the Flirtatious fabric and some retired DSP for the flower.  Purple comes a close second so she picked Wisteria Wonder for the base card. She fossicked about and found an offcut of Pool Party done with the lace border punch so added that on for good measure.  Here's her card.

We had quite a fun afternoon.  Must do it again sometime soon.

Not long til the weekend now!   Have a lovely day.

Cheers, Sue

Perfectly Penned Thank You Card

I have just a slight embossing folder fetish - just love them.  My latest addition to the collection is the Stripes one - isn't it great.  Nice for masculine cards too I think.  Here it is in Cherry Cobbler.

Thank-you-card-stripes

Stamp Set:  The new gorgeous greeting set Perfectly Penned.  (I've got a bit of a font fetish too!)

Colours: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler

Other Products:   Cherry Cobbler Striped Ribbon (yum), First Edition Specialty DSP, a big silver brad rather badly embossed with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder (don't look too closely at that bit!)   The new big circle punch (2 1/2") and the Decorative Label punch.  Sponge wedges - I really love that First Edition newsprint looking paper with some black sponging.

Thank-you-card

LOVE the Cherry Cobbler embossing powder.  Well - botched it up on the brad but how nice does the greeting look.

Thank-you-card-greeting

Launch Ladies Favourite Products Vote

I was looking through the voting slips from my launch nights last week.  We had 24 voting slips to count and the stand out favourite hostess product was Faith In Nature, closely followed by Happy Birthday Wishes.   Favourite stamp set was Four Frames, with Delicate Doilies a very close second, and Summer Solstice and Dinoroar even for third place.  Favourite non stamp set product was the Lace Border Punch.   I hope to show you some cards using these favourites in the coming weeks.

Thank You

Sending out a big thank you to my sister Lisa for all her help with classes, with my launches last week and she even helped with collating the voting slips over the weekend.  Thanks HEAPS.

Have a great week guys,

Cheers, Sue

Stampin' Up 2011/12 Catalogue Launch Wrap Up

I've had a terrific couple of nights celebrating the launch of the Stampin' Up new Idea Book and Catalogue with a bunch of lovely ladies.  Here's some pics from the nights along with something my launch ladies have been waiting to hear - the prize draw winners!

Here's our make and takes ...  (Oops the one on the left had a run in with an ink pad I think - don't mind the little 'extra' black ink there.)

Launch-cards

... and people made their way along the kitchen bench stations to try out a few more sets on their sampler card.

Congratulations to .....

Michele T and Mel on their 50% off chance.

Our other ladies in the draw will get a little bag of DSP squares so that we all share in the fun.

Thanks to everyone who came along and helped join in the fun of launch night, and congratulations to all our prize winners.

Better finish off with a card.  This is a simple one featuring a stamp set that didn't really appeal to me at first (I won it) until I stamped with it.  Once it hit ink it shot straight to the top of my favourites list.

Summer-solstice-card
Stamp Set: Summer Solstice. The greeting is from My Friend.

Colours:  Night Of Navy, Cajun Craze, More Mustard
