Melbourne Show Projects

Hello to anyone visiting after stopping by our stand at the Melbourne Show this year.  We had a great time at the Make and Take Stand in the Art, Craft and Cookery Pavillion over 3 days at the show.  Lots of people sat down with one of our team to make a project.  It was terrific to see so many young people amongst those having some craft time.

Craft-hub

Here's Kylie and I ready for our first make and take visitors.  Kylie's punch art animal bookmarks were a hit.

Craft-hub-kylie-and-I

Here's Di Dunk in action all ready for some cardmakers.

Craft-hub-di

And here's Aris and I on the Wednesday.  Aris had a lovely scrap page for people to try some scrapping.

Craft-hub-aris-and-I

And I forgot my camera on the last day so no pics of Tracy - oops!  She had a great punch art dragonfly card for people to try.

Here's a few shots of my make and take projects.

For this one people had a choice of Rich Razzleberry or the lovely new blue Marina Mist.

Craft-hub-floral-cards

I love the new satin ribbons.  Having just that right shade to coordinate with your cardstock and inks makes all the difference doesn't it.

Tip:  The new self adhesive pearls and rhinestones make a great finishing touch for these cards.  We found it easiest to use some tweezers and slide them off the backing sheet sideways rather than pulling them straight up.

Craft-hub-rhinestones

I'll be back very soon to show you my other project - a butterfly card.    It was very popular - those gorgeous butterflies make such a quick and easy feature for a card.

Must send a thank you to my mum and dad who minded my two while I was at the show.  Jack had his first sleepover and both he and Hannah had a ball by the sounds of things.

Here they are heading off for an adventure at Poppy and Maddy's.  (Jack wore his backpack and wheeled his case along all morning mind you.  I called him in to clean his teeth and in he came with case in tow!  Think he was a bit excited!!)

Poppy-and-maddy-holiday

Speaking of packing - something else I've been doing in the last few days is unpacking boxes!  Yes those launch orders have arrived ....

Unpacking-1

This is definitely the biggest pile of Stampin' Up boxes I've seen.  I think we're keeping my postie employed all by ourselves girls!!

Here's my lounge room floor half way through the unpacking!

Unpacking-2

What a fun job checking out all those lovely goodies.  I think I managed to add a few things to my 'hmmm wouldn't mind that' list in the process!

Well better leave it at that for today.  I'll be back Friday with my butterfly cards, some more school holiday fun snaps and some exciting craft show news.

See you soon,

Cheers, Sue

A Blog Hop

Been very quiet in this patch of blogland hasn't it?  I'll have to get that camera out and take some pics to share soon.

In the meantime if you are after some fabulous crafty inspiration - some of my stamping buddies have a blog hop on the go today.  There are 10 stops.  I just did a lap and the projects are stunning.   (Be warned - I think I added another half a dozen things to my wish list while I was hopping!)

You can catch the hop at this post from my craft show buddy Nikki Sadler:  Blog Hop Stop

Back soon with some cards (and hopefully will find my voice somewhere too - it has disappeared!)

Cheers, Sue

We made a couple of cards - this one uses the beautiful new embosslit 'Beautiful Wings', the new embossing folder 'Elegant Bouquet' and the new Modern Label punch.   We also made a card using the Owl Punch but I'll have to show you that another day.

Melbourne Show Craft Hub

If you are heading along to the Melbourne Show on Tuesday 21st, Wednesday 22nd or Tuesday 28th - make sure you stop in and see us at the Craft Hub in the Art Craft and Cookery Pavillion.  A group of us have a stand there and we will be running make and takes all day.  For $4 you can sit down, rest those feet and make a card, or a scrap page or some cute animal bookmarks.

We'd love to see some friendly faces so stop by and say hi if you're at the show.

Now I'd best be off to go chop some Melbourne Show Card Kits!

Thanks again to all the lovely ladies who made launch days so much fun.  Thanks heaps to my regulars who helped out the newer ladies - much appreciated.  That's the really nice thing about the craft world isn't it.

Have a great week.

Cheers, Sue

Thank You Launch Ladies

Just a quick post today to say a thank you to the lovely ladies who came along last night to the first of my new catalogue launches.  It is always so much fun to spend time with a bunch of people who get as excited as I do about all the yummy Stampin' Up products.   I hope you enjoyed the evening.

Keep an eye out on Sunday and I'll announce the winners of our Hostess Prize Draw.  We've got lots of prizes - good luck!

If you'd like to join in the fun, we're doing it again on Saturday afternoon at 2pm.  I've got a few spare goodie bags here so phone 0417 377 057 or email [email protected] if you'd like to grab one of the spare spots.

My pack of new colours arrived just in time for launch night.  I think Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso are going to be on my favourites list -yum!  And how nice is it to have a Kraft Ink Pad.  (OK Crumb Cake.)

New-free-stuff

I was very lucky to get these free from Stampin' Up (thank you!) as part of a promotion they ran for their demonstrators in the last few months.  I got an In Colour pack too with cardstock and ink pads, plus all the new markers and it felt a bit like Christmas when it arrived.  In the 2 1/2 years I've been a demonstrator, I've found Stampin' Up to be a very generous company.   All demonstrators get a discount off their products, and they have some other lovely rewards too if you work hard on your goals.

Recruit-promo-320 There's a rather snazzy incentive this month to join the demonstrator crew - free in colour ink pads, markers and cardstock valued at $84.90.   You can read more about it here:  Join The In Crowd

Get in touch if you'd like more information - I'd love to welcome some new faces to my team - Think Ink.

You can meet some of my team by clicking on the links in my Think Ink blog list on the right there.

Better sign off for today.  I've got lots of photos to share, but will wait until after Saturday so we keep lots of excitement for the ladies coming along to my Sat launch day.

See you soon,

Cheers, Sue

Owl Punch Fun

We've been having fun in our house with the new Stampin' Up Owl Punch.   (You can find it on pg 146 of our catalogue .)

I made this quick little gift card by mixing and matching some owl punched scraps.  (Plus the branch from the Bird Punch.)  I find a glue stick the easiest way to glue all the bits together.  (We have a pack of 2 for $7.50 on pg 144.)

Owl-card

My two little crafters (7 and 4) have been enjoying Mr Owl too.  I punched a bunch of bits for them and they had fun creating a flock of owls.

Owl-punch-kids Owl-punch

Jack was very keen for his creation to go up on our art wall.  :-)

Owls-jack

You can have such a lot of fun with some cardstock and glue can't you.  Jack (4) has just discovered the joys of  'chopping with scissors' so we often have a big pile of homemade confetti on our dining table lately.  After a close encounter with my half made DSP display book, we've been working on 'check with mummy before you start to chop' too!!

Happy creating!

Cheers, Sue

Greenhouse Gala DSP and Perfect Punches

Hello,

Hope you had a lovely weekend.  About time I had some cards to share isn't it!!

DSP-cards

This pair features the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper and I've kept them nice and simple.  Just a panel of paper matted with some matching cardstock and popped onto a matching base card.  (Real Red, So Saffron and Chocolate Chip are the colours I've used.)

Punch-greeting

The greetings are from the set Perfect Punches (pg 93.)   I was lucky to get this set free at Convention as an award.  (Thanks Stampin' Up!)   I used my Stampin' Write markers for a multicolour greeting and punched it with the coordinating punch (scallop oval and wide oval.)

I think these cards show what I most love about Stampin' Up actually - the coordinating products make it so quick and easy to put a nice card together.  The colours match, the punches fit with the stamp - too easy!

If you'd like to come along and have a play with some of our new range, I've got space left at my launch on Saturday 2pm in Avondale Heights, Melbourne.  (Thursday evening is booked out.)    Details here.

Have a great week!

Cheers, Sue

New Marker Clubs and Baby Card

Wheel-and-markers

I used my Stampin' Write markers and my new Baby Tees wheel to make this baby card.

Baby-wheel-card

I coloured directly on to the wheel with my markers, then gave a good few huffs before rolling it across the cardstock.  I've used Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Pretty In Pink and So Saffron.  Then just grabbed out some coordinating supplies to finish off the card.  I cut out one of the little baby suits for an extra finishing touch.  (Might add some of the gorgeous new adhesive rhinestones or pearls when my big box of goodies arrives next week!)

New Marker Clubs

If you'd like to build a collection of 44 Stampin' Write markers over 8 months, plus a Level 1 hostess set, $80 to spend on Stampin' Up goodies, 8 tutorials to show you how to use your markers and a little extra surprise each month, check out my new Marker Clubs.   $40 per month for 8 months.  You'll find all the details here:  Marker Club Page.  Taking names now and kicking off in October.

Baby Card

While we're on the baby theme, check out this fabulous baby chest of drawers card by Sue Bayliss.  (Yes she is back and blogging her wonderful creations.  Welcome back to blogland Sue!)

Jack's Birthday Card: Lots of Bots

Jack had his birthday recently.  I was in a mad rush and only had a short time to make his card so came up with this quick and simple one using nice bright colours and the Lots Of Bots stamp set.  I masked off the greeting that is below the robot using a post it note and just stamped the robots.  He loved it.

Jack-birthday-card

Colours:  Pacific Point and Real Red with crisp Whisper White.  The greeting is from Occasional Greetings (pg 19) and the number is from the Birthday Party rub on pack on page 134.

He's a bit of a musical lad.  Here he is trying out his birthday present.  (Yes we are probably a bit nuts!)

Jack-drummer

And keeping with the drum theme - his cake.  (A bit wobbly round the edges but he loved it!)

Jack-cake

Bit wild, wet and windy outside today so good day to be tucked up indoors with my inks and stamps.  Hope you are staying warm and dry, and that you squeeze a bit of craft time into your weekend.

Cheers, Sue
