Rich Regals and Greetings Galore ...
April 03, 2008
Hello again,
I had a friend ask me about what cards she could make using a Rich Regals cardstock pack, Greetings Galore Stamp Set and a set of the Rich Regals Markers. Now I can't resist a challenge so got busy last night and made a few simple cards using just these items. (OK actually I cheated and added a strip of patterned paper left over from one of the sets I had from the last catalogue - sshh don't tell!)
Did you know you can use your Stampin' Write Markers to colour directly onto your stamp - that is what I have done for these cards. Quite handy if you want to use more than one colour on the same stamp. I made the horse tail and mane a darker shade of pink and blue on the baby cards. You use the brush end and I use the side, not the tip mostly. The great thing about the markers is that they match the cardstock so it is easy to get a coordinated look. The little pink card there is attached to the top of a cellophane bag, ready to fill with gifts for a new mum, dad or bub. Hmmm - can you package up some sleep!
And now for another card. I borrowed mum's Seeing Spots stamp set to make this card. (Thanks Mum!) And Sincere Salutations for the greeting.
I used Perfect Plum for the base card and stamped it with Versamark and Whisper White craft ink. Versamark is great as it leaves an image just a shade or two darker than the cardstock - great to use if you don't have many ink colours. I like it for backgrounds. On the Confetti White strip I used Perfect Plum ink stamped off twice on scrap paper to make a light background, then stamped the greeting straight on so it was a darker colour than the spots and flowers. I layered it with a thin strip of Perfect Plum and a wider strip of Pale Plum.
And a quick family snap to finish off today. Some relatives were staying with us recently and brought a giant watermelon that neighbours had grown, so we have been eating watermelon every day. Here is someone who enjoys his!! (You can get a glimpse of what is left of the melon in the background, and check out how many slices Jack has devoured!)
What a cutie. Anyway - we are about to head off for a catch up with some of Hannah's playgroup buddies (and my Mum's Group friends) so better go get organised.
Cheers, Sue
I love what you've done with the Seeing Spots stamp set. This card looks great. I think the Versa Mark stamp pad would have to be one of the most used (and best value) things that I've bought so far.

So that's what I can do with the Seeing Spots stamp set! I can see I am going to get a lot of use from them - love this card.
